QDRO Procedures

A Qualified Domestic Relations Order (QDRO) is a court order that recognizes retirement benefits as a joint marital asset and is included as part of a divorce settlement. It often requires all or a portion of your pension benefit to be paid to your spouse or former spouse as a division of your joint marital property.   It may also be used to pay spousal support (alimony) or child support to your spouse, former spouse and/or dependents, which may affect the payment amount you ultimately receive.

View the Plan’s QDRO procedures here, or request a copy by contacting the SEIU Benefit Funds. Please note that any rights of your former spouse to your pension as a result of a QDRO will take precedence over those of any subsequent spouse.

If you have questions about QDROs, please check here for FAQs or email SEIU Benefit Funds.
